25.5. Introduction to tea (with tea tasting)

Many people come to Prague to enjoy local beer. Less people know that, surprisingly, Prague is also one of the best places in the world to taste good tea, and home to unique tea culture. We have decided it’s time to try to change this a bit – so we’re organizing this event which should introduce you into the fascinating world of tea and Prague tearooms.

We’ll explain basics about various kinds of tea and their processing; how green tea, white tea, oolong tea or black teas are made, and what are the time-proven ways of preparing them. Everything will be practical – we’ll taste samples of everything we will talk about.

Apart from teas, we’ll also talk about teaware, tea culture, how to choose good teas, and where you can find Prague best tearooms.

This is an experimental run of the event – its free, although voluntary contributions are of course appreciated.
